My journey with food began as a child experiencing the rich culinary history of southern Louisiana. My mother was inspired by equal parts Julia Child and Paul Prudhome, bringing her love of the two to our families dinner table. By the time college came around I was cooking for friends and family. I found my love language in food and my formal education in classical French Cuisine at the New England Culinary Institute. After graduating from NECI I cooked professionally as a chef in upscale and fine dining restaurants in various cities from Charleston to San Fransisco before settling here in Charlotte. While I left the restaurant industry in 2013, the passion for cooking and food never left me.
I offer in your home, one on one cooking instruction for those who don't want to learn how to cook in a large class format. My school focused on the repetitive "hands-on" approach to cooking and I feel it's the only way to truly learn how to cook. Paper Crane Culinary can help you in your kitchen, whether you need to learn how to break down a chicken, pick the right knives to use, buy the best cooking ranges, or find the best canned plum tomatoes. Let's see if we're the right match.
(I currently don't offer private chef cooking services, dinner parties, catering or group classes)
